Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (2012)
Theme: The American civil war was between the vampire and human alliance of the South and humans of the North. Abe Lincoln was a trained by a good vampire to kill bad vampires.
Where: Qantas 747 business class to Sydney Australia.
Activity: None, just relaxing. The concept was too unique to do anything else and we were too comfortable in the big seat.
Audience: With my mum in the other seat
Sound: Headphones in Qantas business class
Multitasking: Taking photos and interacting with mum
Like: An intriguing tale combining history with vampire lore from the 'Twilight' series.

BattleShip
A contemporary science fiction movie of good versus evil.
Theme: Human ingenuity wins against superior alien technology and firepower.
Where seen: Qantas economy on the way to Singapore.
Audience: Other Qantas passengers from teenagers to young adults.
Sound: Sony noise cancelling headphones.
Activity: chair abdominal crunches, yoga postures modified for air plane chair, aerobic cycling in chair.
Multitasking: It is not possible to work by writing or reviewing articles while watching this action packed movie. Have to use pause button whilst reading or writing on computer in front of movie. Pause again while meal service is being provided by Qantas cabin crew.

Liked: Lots of gung ho action with true dogged determination to bring down the bad aliens. Nice touch to pit Japanese against USA in navel manoeuvres in Hawaii. Then bring Japs and Yanks together to fight the aliens. Gotta be a good thing there extending the brotherhood of man.
Ideal audience: Teenage boys or sons who are celebrating a sporting or physical achievement.
Not ideal: Glorifies war
